Steps to Financial Freedom

When my ex had called everything off I remember being terrified with how I was going to financially live alone. I was about to move back to the city which was increasing my rent from $500 a month to $1300 a month. I had so many negative thought loops going on at the time and was so so so sad and this was just another layer on the situation that gave me so much anxiety.

Luckily, I had been listening to You’re A Badass by Jen Sincero which gave me the courage to jump and just believe the universe had my back. I picked an apartment that I LOVED and it was over double what I was previously paying. At the time it equated to one whole paycheck (out of 2 a month lol). Within my first year I had racked up a good amount of credit card debt.

In January of 2018 I started to self coach myself on my money mindset and identified so many negative money beliefs I had:

  • “I would never make enough money.’“

  • “I was never going to get out of debt because I have so much of it.”

I started self coaching on these thoughts and coming up with new intentional money thoughts I wanted to think and by February 2018 I had made over $18k, paid off all my credit card debt, and doubled my overall income for the year.

I want to help you do this at the same time you’re getting over your ex and going through the pain of a breakup. Why? Money should not be something you’re worried about. While your relationship ends with your ex, why not build an amazing beautiful relationship with money. Money solves so many problems and when you have to so much else to work through money shouldn’t be a limiting factor.

Steps to Financial Freedom:

  1. Awareness: Use these prompts/questions to gain awareness around your money beliefs, begin to question them and identify if they are serving you?

    • Core Money Beliefs

      1. Money is…

      2. What did you learn from your parents and teachers when growing up?

      3. How have you always thought about money? Include positive and negative thoughts.

    • Earning Money

      1. How much can you earn and what would that require in terms of time and effort?

      2. Are you open to receiving? And do you notice that the more you give, the more you’re open to receiving? Explain.

    • Spending Money

      1. What were your three best purchases?

      2. How did you feel when you purchased them?

      3. On a monthly basis what do you normally spend money on, how do you feel when you spend that money?

    • Having Money

      1. What is the difference between having money and wanting money?

      2. Do you associate being wealthy and having money with anything negative?

  2. Mindset Shift

    • Thoughts – Start to explore the thoughts you collected in step one and work them through the model. What are those thoughts creating? Are they serving you? Check out the free money mindset worksheet and start to make a mindset shift to start finding financial freedom.

    • Value Not Time – THIS IS HUGE! This is where I made the biggest changes when it came to my money mindset. Money isn’t created by time and effort. Money is created by providing VALUE. When you have a mindset in which money comes from time and effort you are constantly living in a place of scarcity wanting to make sure you get paid for every single thing you do.

      When you over deliver and provide tremendous value you ALWAYS get it back 10 times over. Not only are you more self confident but since you’ve provided such quality to the world, you’re open to receiving all the gifts and abundance the world has to offer.

      You can create your own wealth by creating your own value and providing it to the world. Begin to fully show up and be the best version of yourself you can possibly be and give as much service to the world as you possibly can. Be open to receiving and to be open to receiving you have to be providing true value.

These steps will lead to very tangible results. Become aware of your money current money beliefs, which ones are serving you and which ones should you drop? Then begin to shift your mindset to your new money beliefs and decide on purpose today that you’re going to go out and provide tremendous value to the world! In your job, in your relationship, to your friends, to your family, live your best version of yourself and as Sarah Finds says, “Be. Receive. Give Thanks”.

Self Love Rituals

Self-love stems from our thoughts on love. It has nothing to do with our circumstances. We often think we need other people to do or say things in order for us to feel loved, which is difficult because we can’t control what someone else says or does. When it comes down to it other people can’t make us feel unloved or loved, it is all grounded in the thoughts that we think about what others have said/not said or behaved around us. You yourself are responsible for creating the result of feeling loved by choosing to feel love for yourself. That being said we are all searching for love. This amazing, magical, whimsical, blissful feeling that radiates around us. The vibration that flows through your body in a magnitude of ways but always leaves you with a warm rush, joyful, happy feeling.

 

This Valentine’s Day, instead of searching for a love outside yourself start your day by finding thoughts that create the feeling of love within yourself. Love from the inside out. Truly sit down and identify what thoughts are you thinking that is serving you in the self-love department? If you don’t have any, that’s ok, let’s start today. Sit down and journal for 10 minutes writing down all your thoughts on love. Identify those thoughts that are not serving you, that make you feel unloved and those that fill you up with love. Begin your day by repeating and writing down the thoughts that make you feel like the most lovable person around.

 

Some thoughts that make me feel loved are:

“The universe that created earth also created me.”

“Love is overflowing in my life and is unbelievably abundant, I’ll never run out of my love.”

“Love flows freely to and away from me.”

“I love my soulmate and love to express my love through kind caring words and gifts.”

 

Now in combination with the thought work above, here are some of my other self-love rituals that will help you love all over yourself this Valentine’s Day Season:

Meditation

All of us have the universe living inside of us. Each person houses a piece of the universe. The universe made each and every one of us so it is in our blood and bones, it flows through our body and lights us up like a cool sparkling liquid that rushes through us at different speeds throughout the day. When you meditate you begin to channel that light you begin to align with your inner self and become more in tune with what I call your inner alien (aka inner self/intuition).

During my meditation, I love to use crystals such as the Kyanite stone found in the Rainstorm box from Little Box of Rocks to help instantly align the body’s chakras and aids in releasing all emotional blockages.

 

Affirmations & Gratitude Lists

Get the self-love and grateful feelings flourishing with loving affirmations and lists that remind you of all the wonderful and beautiful things in your life. All the while holding your Citrine crystal that’s infused with positive energy while repeating your self-love affirmations in the morning. Try to wake up 5 minutes early in the morning so that you have a moment to write down 3 to 5 things you’re grateful for and identify a self-love affirmation you’re going to repeat to yourself throughout the day anytime you start to feel down.

Here are some of my favorite self-love affirmations:

My inner world creates my outer world.

I radiate love, peace, and happiness.

I am strong, beautiful and flexible.

My body is beautiful AF and my booty is da bomb dot com.

I am a work of art.

I provide so much value in the world.

My experience in life is my own and no one shares the exact same experience as me.

 

Relax & Pamper

There is no better way to let stress wash away than by taking a hot relaxing bubble bath. Fill the tub with hot water, light some candles, throw in some bubbles and Himalayan Salt to elevate your mood and dispel negativity. Let your muscles relax and watch as everything that you love stays with you and whatever doesn’t serve you disappears as the bathtub is drained.

 

Creative Play Time

Take some time out of your day to play. Be a kid again and go out and just play. Whatever creative venture it is, just make time for it and don’t get too serious, have fun! Let it flow and don’t be worried about how it looks or what the end game is, just do something for fun. Let yourself love the little moments in life. Show yourself love by carving out the time to have fun and do something that you’ve been wanting to try out or spend more time on. Use the Clear Quartz to set your desired intention of love, creativity, and joy.

 

Stand the Starfish Pose

So if you’re not familiar, the starfish pose is when you are standing and you have your arms up and wide and your legs are spread apart so that your body looks like a star. It’s an invigorating and inspiring pose to be in. Just standing in this pose will give you so much self-love but you can take it to the next level by holding on to or sticking the Sodalite crystal in your pocket to help calm your mind and find emotional harmony and freedom from fear. My friend also loves to go for a hike and when she gets to her destination she’ll just stand in this pose and yell her affirmation. #sotherapuetic If you have the ability to go on a hike over the weekend, I highly recommend this!

 

There are so many self-love rituals out there but ultimately you’ll need to identify what thoughts create the feeling of love for you? Get creative, not only around the thoughts that create love in your life but also around your self-love rituals. What do you do for yourself that makes you feel full of love? Respect yourself, be kind to yourself, because ultimately you’re exactly where you are supposed to be. Everything is happening FOR you exactly at the right time. The universe has a plan for you and everything is going to work out exactly as it’s supposed to, so why not love yourself in the process? You’re only human and you’re doing the best you can. Floating Away

I recently had the opportunity to experience the new Aire Ancient Baths in Chicago. It was a restored factory from 1902 in River West. It was a unique experience for the body and mind. It was a journey through the traditional Roman, Greek and Ottoman ancient experience of baths. It was my soul sister’s birthday so we decided to celebrate by making an appoint at this wonderful facility. What an amazing experience. I would highly recommend it! I will absolutely be going back again in the future.

 

They have multiple baths that have a variety of temperatures, consistencies, and architectures which each elicit different feelings. Some of my favorite parts were:

  • The Argan Oil Massage – OMG! This was the most amazing experience. It was a 90-minute full body massage with warm, organic Argan oil. I don’t know what they massaged my face with but it was the most peaceful feeling I’ve ever felt.

  • Steam Room w/ Ice Pool – This was an extra hot steam room with marble heating seats which did I mention everything in the bath area is marble and heated. So amazing. Anyways this steam room has an ice pool in the very middle so if you get too hot you can easily just jump in there to cool down quickly.

  • Bath w/ entrance to outside waterfall – I love being in a hot tub outside, this was that but on steroids. It was so beautiful and relaxing. You entered the pool from inside and could go under a divide which led you to outside where there was a waterfall. Since it was winter the entire area was filled with steam coming from the waterfall. It was beautiful.

  • Himalayan salt exfoliation area – I’m totally purchasing this salt on Amazon. It made my skin so smooth. There is an entire area where you rub down with the salt and then there is a shower from above where you rinse the salt off. It is an exhilarating exfoliant for your body.

  • The Flotarium – This bath specifically is made for you to float in. Literally, nothing could sink in this bath. The feeling of pure flotation in water was so calming. It’s warm and has quiet yet peaceful music underwater for you to listen to while you float.

  • The Environment – The entire area is all lit with candles, no lights and the whole place smells of orange blossom. You feel 100% like a goddess throughout this whole experience. I couldn’t have been happier with the environment they created in this abandoned factory. It had the original exposed brick and column woodwork. It was gorgeous. They even had a hot tea set up around the entire area.

 

Overall my net promoter score is a 9 out of 10, a huge promoter of this experience and highly recommend you check it out!

 

The only downfall is you can’t take your own photos while there so, of course, that was a huge bummer to me however they were kind enough to provide me with their images to show you a sneak peek inside. These photos don’t do it justice, it’s way more amazing inside so make sure to go check it out yourself!

Daily Meditation Practice

All of us have the universe living inside of us. Each person houses a piece of the universe. The universe made each and every one of us so it is in our blood and bones, it flows through our body and lights us up like a cool sparkling liquid that rushes through us at different speeds throughout the day. When you meditate you begin to channel that light you begin to align with your inner self and become more in tune with what I call your inner alien (aka inner self/intuition).

 

So meditation always sounds good in theory but actually doing it can be difficult and have I mentioned it’s a “practice” meaning you should incorporate it daily. When I first heard of meditation I was on a train, and I attempted to meditate. I did have a weight lifted off my shoulders that was lingering from a breakup but I never meditated on a daily basis or even regularly for that matter.

 

Then came a time in my life where I felt like every piece of my life (work, personal, relationship) was going wrong and I couldn’t find a single release, whether that was alcohol, drugs, external validation, relationships, sex. Everything felt heavy, forceful, pushed and just stuck. I tried everything, except for meditation. I finally was asked by a colleague to meditate with her in a conference room. As soon as I did I felt the smallest bit happier. I then decided to dive off the deep end. Since that was LITERALLY the only release I could find, I started to meditate every 4 to 6 hours, just to make myself feel better, lighter, and happier. When I started doing that I started seeing drastic changes in my life. I learned to be present in the moment, learned how to enjoy the moment I was in, became way more open-minded, found peace and calmness in a variety of settings. I would visualize light flowing into my body, through it, feeding my inner alien, and back out the top of my head into the sky, back up to the universe.

 

I want you will feel lighter, happier, more electric, and so many other wonderful feelings. I want you to have that release that is so much better than any external validation you can get from the outside world. I want you to be able to turn to yourself and find happiness in light from within.

 

Why don’t you try it out? Here is a short list of some of the positive benefits I’ve received in my life due to meditating:

  • Being in the vortex and connecting to source energy

  • Living in the present moment

  • Raised my frequency

  • Helped me relax

  • Relieved stress

  • Felt lighter

  • Fills me with light and love

  • Opens me up to receive information

  • Became more in tune with myself and my inner alien

  • Strengthens my inner alien (intuition and focus)

  • Helps me hear my inner alien (inner voice) more clearly

  • Began to love myself

  • Had some pretty epic epiphanies in my life

  • Beautiful visuals from time to time

  • Gained clarity in a variety of areas within my life

 

Most people approach me saying they don’t know how to meditate. That is ok, I can help you. Here are some guided meditations I absolutely love!

 

I personally like to listen to music, specifically, Shamana by Imagika Om.  This song has a rhythm that matches the vibration of my body. I breathe in two breaths with the beat and then breath out two breaths, again with the beat of the song. All the while I’m visualizing the light entering and exiting my body, feeding my inner alien. Giving her the power and strength to see clearly, guide and protect me. I have a meditation playlist on Spotify if you’d like to try it out. Here are some tips that might make meditation easier for you:

  • Set a timer – this will allow you to realize that you are sitting down for a certain time frame so you don’t have to worry about going over or focusing and disrupting your meditation by looking at the clock

  • Light a candle and focus on it – This may help you ignore passing thoughts

  • Use a mantra – If there is something specific you are working on use a mantra that aids in your meditation to remain present and let thoughts pass you like clouds

  • First thing in the morning – Meditating right away in the morning allows for a clear mind, schedule in a second meditation during lunch or immediately after work to unwind and clear out your mind

  • Set an intention – If there is something specific in your life that is going on that you’d like to meditate about, ask the question, or use the mantra. For example, maybe you’re going through a breakup, ask the universe to let go of the negative thoughts and feelings that surround that breakup so that all that is left is love

  • Schedule in time daily – Literally schedule this time in, and stick to it. Follow through for yourself, don’t abuse your alien’s time nor your time, if you schedule it into your calendar be a good friend to yourself and do what you said you would do

 

There is no right or wrong way to meditate, focus on your breathing and stay present in the moment. Make it a habit. I get to work everyday at 7:30am and I meditate and journal until 8am. Schedule it in, once you get in the habit of doing it, you’ll get used to it and it won’t be as forced. But the more you meditate the better you’ll feel, it’s like going to the gym to exercise but instead of exercising muscles, you’re exercising your mind and spirit. I promise your entire life will change.

Thoughts to Power Positivity

It was requested last week that I create a program to teach how to fill your life with positivity while clearing out negativity. I was in the middle of thinking about revamping Find Your Inner Alien but as this person prompted this program it literally wrote itself in one night. So! I’m super excited about this new program but I wanted to start out by sharing some tips and tricks on how to bring more positivity into your life in a practical sense. So here are some of the things I do to stay in a positive mindset throughout the chaos in my life on earth.

 

  • Limit the amount of news you watch

    The news is heavy, period. That’s it. I’m not saying that you need to completely be in the dark about everything but if you find that you attach to that energy easily, back away from it a bit. You can stay informed but you also can limit the negative energy that comes along with it.

 

  • Create a Pinterest board

    I have a Pinterest board that has filled with quotes to live by. It’s all inspirational and empowering quotes that make me feel uplifted when I’m down in the dumps.

 

  • Absorb empowering and inspiring content

    OMG! There is sooooo much out there! Read and listen to content that gets your excited about life and makes you feel like you can conquer the world! I’ll review it all in my program but some of my favorites are:

    • Brooke Castillo – The Life Coach School

      • This is the most amazing podcast ever! So practical but also just mind-blowing all day every day. I love her, I hope to be just like her someday!

    • Gabby Bernstein – The Universe Has Your Back

      • She is the cutest human on this planet and so inspiring!

  • Let go or limit the people around you who leave you feeling heavy

    If you feel heavy and sad after hanging up the phone or leave someone, limit your time with them. I don’t mean to sound rude it’s just we all have that one person in our lives that literally has a cloud hanging over them. They are always sick, or they are talking about someone ill, or about how bad the world is now. Literally, everything that comes out of their mouth is like, “bleh, bummer this, bummer that”. Let them do their thing but if you want your life to be full of positivity, either try to change the subject to something uplifting or leave.

 

  • Workout

    Doing something physical is going to make you feel good. Literally, I don’t know how to say this any more clear, sweating and working your body, feels good. As my bestie B says, look good, feel good.

 

  • Eat nutritional foods

    When you put icky foods in your body, your body feels groggy and quite literally “heavy”. So replace the processed foods with more greens and watch the shift.

 

  • Clear your space

    You have to make room! You have to make room for love, light, and beauty. If the space that surrounds you is cluttered and full where can you put your positivity? Whether this is work or home, clear it out, let the sun in, and let the space breathe! The more space you have physically the more space you’ll create mentally.

 

Those are some of the things I’ve made habits into my life to maintain a positive lifestyle but to accomplish real long-term change, you need to change your THOUGHTS. Your thoughts create your feelings, which create your action in return creates your results.

Heading Into 2018

Hello my beautiful, amazing friends!

 

Heading into the new year can encompass a plethora of emotions. Some of you may be feeling like wow I kicked 2017’s ass … how am I supposed to go up from here? Others may be disappointed about what took place or should I say, didn’t take place in 2017. Some of you are nervous for the year to come, while others are excited and inspired to move forward. Maybe you don’t even care and really have no emotion whatsoever. We all handle the new year differently. Here’s what I did to wrap up 2017 in a positive way and move into 2018 feeling invigorated AF and unbelievably pumped to start taking action.

 

1. Complete a Year In Review

Completing a year in review requires you to sit down and look over each month and each area of your life to determine, what results did I have? What was created by me that was not a creation when I started? What is now in this world that was not? For example, in January last year, I had received my first magazine publication for modeling. This article was not physically there until January of 2017. I created that article, that is a result listed in my year in review. Another example of this is the launch of my first two programs (Find Your Inner Alien & Center Yourself), those programs were not created nor launched until 2017.

 

Sit down and review, what did you accomplish each month? What areas were most impacted by the year (relationships, career, money, home)? What results were you hoping for that were not achieved? Get it all out, write it all down to examine where you can improve, celebrate your successes, and prioritize what you’ll focus on next year.

 

2. Create Your Goals For 2018

After you’ve completed your Year In Review, prioritize the results that you want such as, buy a house, make $100k from my own business, or publish my dissertation. You should be listing something that is a “result”. Something that is tangible and specific. I wrote out my top 10 goals aka results for 2018 but you can have as many or as little as you want just make sure you know and define your criteria so when you get to the end of the year you can say yes or no I achieved this result.

 

3. Map Out a Plan

Once you’ve created and prioritized your goals, you need to map it out. A lot of your goals may be big and grand and terrifying yet exhilarating … that’s wonderful! Break. It. Down. You must break it down into smaller pieces to ensure you can accomplish it all. By planning it out, it frees up space from making decisions every day that you may have or have not already decided upon, which allows more of your energy to be spent “doing” rather than “making decisions”.

 

For example, if you want to make $100k in your business this year, break it down by month, then a week, then a day. Then you know how much it is you need to make every day to meet your goal. You will then also understand what products/how many products you need to sell in each timeframe to be able to meet your goal. So $100k a year comes down to $8.3k a month, $2.1k a week, and $298 a day. What products/services do you need to sell to ensure you profit $2.1k a week? This will help you build out your plan and due dates for your projects for the rest of the year. Make sure you schedule a midpoint review to see where you are tracking. Where should you be against each goal by that time?

 

4. Find an Accountability Partner

Find someone who will hold you accountable. Schedule monthly check in’s with this person and outline to them for each month what you should have completed by that point. If you don’t have your deliverables completed, instead of spending time discussing why focus on how you’ll ensure they get done in a timely manner to ensure you hit your next deadline. This partner can also help you brainstorm solutions and/or throw ideas back and forth in moments you need a sounding board.

 

Make sure this individual is a good match! I cannot stress that enough … find someone who is also organized and responsible in their lives. Find someone who is positive and optimistic, you wouldn’t want an accountability partner who is pessimistic or has so many self-limiting beliefs that they also try to push those onto you. Anyone who doesn’t agree that you can accomplish the goals you set forth probably won’t be the right person for you. Just skip them and move on to someone else, you don’t need to convince anyone.

 

5. Get to Work

Uhm hello, this is the most difficult part but also the most important part. Take massive action, move forward, over deliver and crush it! You have created and mapped out your plan, put all the pieces in place to keep you on track moving forward. Now let your mind stop thinking about those things and take your to-do list and start working on it, one piece at a time. Work through one thing, ALL THE WAY TO COMPLETION. Then move on to the next task. You have to do the work to see the results so let’s do it!!!! I know you can and most importantly, you know you can! Don’t let anyone else tell you otherwise. Remember, when someone else is judging you, it’s more about them and their limitations than it is about you. You’ve got this!

Find Your Inner Alien

In the past year I’ve completed and been a part of a lot of different exercises to help me figure out who I am, what I want, and become closer to myself. I’ve experimented with many activities that have helped me not only become more intuitive but also has provided me clarity and happiness. I have this weird concept that I have found and fallen madly in love with my inner alien. She is my intuition, my goddess, my badass, the one who houses my soul and past lives. I’ve become closer to her which has brought me so much joy and personal happiness in life especially in times of darkness when I could find no other release.

 

I’ve decided to share some of my favorite exercises that I’ve come across in the past year in hopes to help others find their inner alien, to become closer to themselves, and find clarity and happiness. Whether you’re in a slump, can’t decide on what you want in life, having difficulty finding happiness, or are just super curious about what the heck I’m talking about I urge you to take part in my 7 week program.
