Breakups are gut wrenching. Not only do you feel a slew of negative emotions but you also feel physical pain sometimes. Most of my clients just want to “feel better”. They want to stop crying, being sad, upset, all of the emotions. They just want to feel the slightest bit better.
The thing is, we either avoid, resist or react to negative emotion. Some emotions in a breakup are negative emotions I want my clients to process however sometimes my clients will compound the pain and will be experiencing negative emotion that isn’t even necessary such as shame, guilt, or betrayal. We work together to not only learn how to process those negative emotions but we also determine which emotions are not serving them and just causing more pain.
The problem is, I can’t help everyone going through a breakup.
